I’m organizing a trip to the ex-HMAS Brisbane on the 23rd of October, commercial partner is Sunreef. The costs will be AUD$ 100 for the charter and AUD$ 20 for tanks with the option of a free upgrade to Nitrox for anyone certified, which adds up to AUD$ 120 in total for a double dive at the wreck. Apart from weights and tanks, gear hire will remain your responsibility.

The exHMAS was eventually marked for scuttling as a dive wreck off Mooloolaba, just 5 km offshore in 2005. Meanwhile the wreck site has been colonized by sponges, soft corals, and hard corals, while over 200 different species of fish have been sighted in the area. You can spot Turtles, Eagle Rays, Groupers, Octopus as well as thousands of small fishes. No guarantee for the big ones. Sorry.

As the ship lies upright in the sand bed at a depth of about 28m with the top deck at around 18m, this is a dive site is suitable for experienced divers only. This means 30+ dives, advanced open water certificate or equivalent and 10+ dive sites dived.

Note, if you sign up you agree with a compulsory briefing on the Thursday before the dive at 18:45.

120$ have to be paid as a deposit to secure your spot.

We are meeting at the shed at 06:30 in order to arrive in Mooloolaba at 08:00.
