Event information
This event is full.
Hi all,
Josh and I are taking the Unidive vessel, Down Under, to dive Flinders Reef on Saturday 15thst Oct. Flinders Reef is home to Brisbane's only true coral reef and fully protected marine sanctuary. Your dive will be among an amazing array of marine life and coral. The walls, gutters, caves and pinnacles of this reef are covered in over one hundred coral species including staghorn, brain, plate and many others, as well as soft corals, gorgonians and sponges. On your dive, you'll discover that Flinders Reef also hosts more than 175 species of reef fish, invertebrates, turtles, stingrays, wobbegong sharks and even the occasional manta ray
This trip is for open water divers but experienced divers to assist with the day’s proceedings will be appreciated. We will be returning to shore around 4pm and be back at the shed by 6pm to unload and wash the boat. Dive gear is your responsibility with gear hire available from Unidive.
There will be a trip meeting at the shed on the Thursday night (13th Oct 6:30pm Sharp) for a briefing. The boat handler is Josh and we require a 2nd boat handler/boat tower for the trip to go ahead. Volunteers are required for the following tasks: snacks, finance, filling tanks, trip report. The expected cost will be between $80 - $100. Please bring $50 cash deposit on Thursday night with balance required on the day.
I will see you on Thursday 13th Oct for the briefing.
Cheers,
Mark
