CANCELLED - Shore Dive - Gold Coast Seaway - OW - Mia

Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

Hey everyone!

We are organising a shore dive at the Gold Coast Seaway on February 1st. This dive is suitable for all members, from open-water to experienced divers.

We would very much like experienced divers to come along to buddy up with divers who haven't dived at this site before, and we will be providing surface watch (Committee Training Officer Mia).

We aren't planning on providing a BBQ for this social dive. So, the only costs will be the carpooling and any loan gear and tanks from the club, which you will need to arrange on the Thursday night before. The dive site has a cafe and restaurant for anyone keen for lunch and a post-dive debrief.

Please register for the event. Even if you have your own gear and tanks, we need everyone to RSVP so we know how many people are going.

We will meet the Thursday night beforehand at 6:15 pm at the shed for a pre-dive brief and to organise carpooling to the Gold Coast. The high tide is at 10:15 a.m. QLD time, so we will aim to get to the site at about 9 a.m.

Each diver must:

  • Be a current Unidive member, medically fit to dive, who passed the swimming test
  • Have an open water certification
  • Have dived in the past 6 months (or the Dive Supervisor has agreed to individual circumstances)
  • Dive with an SMB/safety sausage, cutting device and whistle. Note: These items are NOT supplied.
  • Bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins as Unidive does not hire them.
  • Dive within their certification and capability.
  • Follow instructions given by the trip organiser and the dive supervisors.
  • Be able to attend a trip meeting on the Thursday beforehand at the shed.

If you have any questions about the trip, please email dive@unidive.org
