We plan to do two dives at Flat Rock, Point Lookout. Flat Rock consists of four main dive sites - The Nursery, Shark Alley, The Bowl and The Turtle Caves. The Nursery, located at the SW corner of Flat Rock, is the shallowest site, with depths from 5 - 16 m and minimal current. There is plenty of coral to see and this is an excellent place to see some of the smaller wildlife, such as nudibranchs and reef fish, however, eagle rays, turtles, wobbegongs and leopard sharks can also be seen here.

Shark Alley, located at the eastern edge of the reef, is a very popular site in June to October due to the population of Grey Nurse Sharks that can be found here. This site is only suitable for experienced divers and has depths from 12 - 35m. Rays, turtles, wobbegongs and pelagics are also found here.

Turtle Cave is to the NW of Flat Rock and has a mooring at 25m, so again, this is a site for experienced divers. Although it is called Turtle Cave, this is a site known for large schools of pelagic fish, and it is not unusual to see large schools of barracuda and rays. This is an excellent dive site at any time of the year.

The Bowl is a bowl-shaped rock formation on the SE corner of the Flat Rock reef and has a depth from 10-34m. The current can be strong at this site. This is a good spot to see both larger marine life as well as many smaller species. Outside the bowl divers often witness large cod and groupers, turtles, wobbegong, leopard, white-tip and grey nurse sharks, and schools of small, medium and large rays.
