South West Rocks is a famous dive site off the NSW coast which boasts Australia's best shark and cave dive. The best part of this site is fish rock cave which is a 125m swim-through with two 18m chimneys which give access to the main cave area from the deep entrance. It also has two bubble caves where you can pop up out of the water and chat with your buddy (for more site info visit South West Rocks Dive Centre website). This site has a unique ecosystem and is host to a large variety of marine life including grey nurse sharks, black cod, large wobbegong sharks, black rays, turtles, moray eels, giant gropers and giant cuttle fish. This will be a weekend trip leaving Friday 26th and coming back Sunday 28th of July, with 4 dives in total (2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday) and bunk-style accommodation (which can be upgraded at an additional personal cost) at South West Rocks Dive Centre. The trip cost will be $495 per person and includes diving, bunk accommodation, tanks and weights but does not include gear hire, food or shared fuel costs for getting to and from South West Rocks. Everyone will need to pay a deposit of $100 to South West Rocks as soon as possible after registering in order to secure your spot for the trip. The remaining $395 is payable to South West Rocks Dive Centre either closer to or on the first day of the trip. If you need to hire gear you can organise and pay for this through Unidive on the Thursday night before we leave and if you have any questions about gear hire please contact loans@unidive.org. You'll need to have your own torch (and a backup torch) as there will be areas of complete darkness inside the cave (Unidive does not hire torches).  To finalise the arrangements for the trip, we will meet on Thursday 18 July at 6:15 pm at the shed (note that this is a week in advance rather than the usual Thursday night before the trip, so that we have plenty of time to sort out everything). Please note each diver must: Be a current Unidive member, medically fit to dive, who passed the swimming test Be at least Advanced Open Water certified or higher Have completed at least 30 dives across 10 different sites Have dived in the last 6 months Dive with an SMB/safety sausage, cutting device and whistle. (We don't hire these, but may have some available at the shed) Bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins as Unidive does not hire them Dive within their certification and capability Follow instructions given by the boat crew, and dive supervisor Help out throughout the whole day If you have any questions about the trip, please email dive@unidive.org.
