Nine Mile Reef - Commercial - EXP - Kara
Event information
Late registrations for this event are closed.
We are planning to go for an epic drift dive at Nine Mile Reef! This reef is located at the border of NSW off Tweed Heads and is famously a sharky spot, with leopard sharks in the summer, grey nurse in the winter, and plenty of wobbegongs all year round. Other sharks such as bronze whalers, bull sharks, and even the occasional hammerhead are known to turn up, and there is plenty of other marine life to be found.
We will do two dives with a commercial boat and the cost will be $155, including tanks and weights (which Tweed Sea Sports will provide on the day) and also a guide for the whole group as we will all gear up and drop in at the same time. Gear (apart from tanks and weights) is your own responsibility, and BCD/Wetsuits/Regs can be hired at the club the Thursday before the trip. Fuel cost will be additional to the trip cost and is payable to your driver on the day.
Every diver must come to the shed the Thursday before the trip (13th June) for a pre-dive briefing. On Saturday, we will need to get to Tweed Sea Sports by 7am, and we'll discuss the logistics during the briefing.
As this is a remote and deep dive site (30m), every diver must be Experienced (Minimum Advanced open water or equivalent and 30+ dives). We have only 12 spots available so be quick to sign up!
If you have any questions about the trip, please email dive@unidive.org.
