Shore Dive - Gold Coast Seaway - OW - Nicole

Event information

Hey everyone!

We are organising a shore dive at the Gold Coast Seaway on 24 June. This is open to Open Water divers and above

We would very much like experienced divers to come along to buddy up with divers who haven't dived at this site before, and we will be providing surface watch. Unlike our Welcome Dives at the Tweed, although this is a social dive, we aren't planning on providing a BBQ, just going for a dive, therefore, the only costs will be the cost of carpooling, and hiring any gear and tanks from the club, which you will need to arrange on the Thursday night.

Even if you have everything that you need including tanks, please sign up to let us know how many people are going.

High tide is at 12:26pm Qld time, so it should be a relatively relaxed day out :-)

For all who are keen, we will meet the Thursday night beforehand at 6:15pm at the shed for a pre-dive brief.

Each diver must:

  • Be a current Unidive member, medically fit to dive, who passed the swimming test
  • Have an open water certfication
  • Have dived in the past 6 months (or the Dive Supervisor has agreed to individual circumstances)
  • Dive with an SMB/safety sausage, cutting device and whistle. Note: These items are NOT supplied. Safety sausage and shears can be purchased from Unidive.
  • Bring their own mask, snorkel, and fins as Unidive does not hire them.
  • Dive within their certification and capability.
  • Follow instructions given by the trip organiser and the dive supervisors.
  • Be able to attend a trip meeting on the Thursday beforehand at the shed.

If you have any questions about the trip, please email dive@unidive.org
