How the UniDive is Managed

UniDive is managed through the members. The members choose the executive and management commitee members out of its members, once a year during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) mostly organised in March.

Rules and Bylaws

The rules and regulations of UniDive are described in the club rules document and the bylaws. They describe the different positions, committee's and procedures for daily management of the club, including boating and diving. Rules and Bylaws are reviewed every two years.

Management Handbook

Management Handbook is hard copy book which service as help for management commitee members as a source of information. At a change over of a commitee member, usualy after the AGM, the book will change as well from owner.

It contains: - powerpoint describing the handover procedure from one to next commitee, - Rules and bylaws - Important dates in regards of different asspects of the club - List of club equipment - List of key holders - Copy of all forms used to manage the club

Excutive Commitee

The excutive commitee is contains four members:

  • President - Jimi Bursaw
  • Vice President - Jon Chong
  • Secretary - Bride Moran
  • Treasurer - Bruce Mclean

Management Commitee

The Management commitee contains several members, the number can vary between commitee terms. Mostly the management commitee contains:

  • the four excutive members
  • Diving Officer - Ben Beneke
  • Boating Officer - Lee Raby
  • Gear Hire - Jenny Matheson
  • Maintenance Officer - Justin Marriner
  • Training Officer - Chris Roelfsema
  • Memberships Officer - Dave Bizant
  • Social Officer - Samantha Smith
  • Ancillaries Officer - TBA

Management and General Meetings

The management commitee meets every month before the last Thursday of the month. The mangement commitee is used to manage club activities. The General meeting is used by the management commitee to discuss and inform its members on ongoing activities and management challenges.

Challenges raised by the members can be presented by the member at the management meeting after discussing it with secretary or raised at the monthly general meeting.

Safety Commitee

Safety commitee chair is chosen by management commitee. Safety chair will suggest several members to join the safety commitee which need to be approved by the management commitee. The Safety commitee meet every quarter to discuss safety challenges with in the club or approve applications for boathandling and towing of club boat and gear trailer.
