Unidive Mailing Lists

Unidive uses a several mailing lists to help organise dives and other club activities. All Unidive lists are "closed" lists meaning only unidive members can post email to them.

Subscribing and unsubscribing

All new members should be subscribed to the unidive-members and unidive-chat lists automatically as soon as their membership applications have been processed. If you believe you have not been subscribed then please email the membership officer.

To unsubscribe from any of the lists please send a plain text email to majordomo@lists.uq.edu.au with a single line in the body of the email saying "unsubscribe list-name" e.g. "unsubscribe unidive-members" or "unsubscribe unidive-chat". Each list is separate from the others, so if you want to unsubscribe from all lists then you will need to send a separate email for each of the lists you are a member of (typically unidive-members and unidive-chat). If this does not work, or you have any problems please email the membership officer.

The lists

The address of each list follows the format "unidive-something@lists.uq.edu.au" where "something" is the name of the list.

All Unidive members.
Who can post:
All Unidive members.

This list is the main mailing list that all unidive members will receive and can post to. It is intended to be used for organising/advertising diving and other important unidive activities. Please do not post any off-topic messages to this list.

unidive-chat@

List name:
unidive-chat
Who is on this list:
Optional. Any Unidive members who want to be.
Who can post:
All Unidive members.

This list is intended to be less restrictive than the unidive-members list and can be used to post emails not directly related to dive trips. This list is optional, if you do not like your inbox flooded with email then please follow these simple instructions to unsubscribe your self from the list. As not all Unidive members are on this list it is not appropriate to use for messages that it is critical all members get - please use the unidive-members list in these cases.

Who is on this list:
The Unidive Management committee.
Who can post:
All Unidive members.

This list can be used to send an email to all members of the current management committee. If you have an issue that needs to be brought to the attention of the management committee then this can be a convenient way to contact them.

unidive-boathandlers@

Who is on this list:
All approved Unidive boat handlers.
Who can post:
All Unidive members.

This list can be used to send an email to unidive boat handles. If there are any issues with the boat after a day out, please email the details to this list so all boat handlers can be kept up to date.

Who is on this list:
The Unidive Safety committee.
Who can post:
All Unidive members.

This list can be used to send an email to all members of the current safety committee. If you have an issue that needs to be brought to the attention of the safety committee then this can be a convenient way to contact them.
